Don & Janet Eckstrand - SEND International Craig & Becky Nordgren - New appointees with SEND International to Spain. The Nordgren family has been an active and vital part of the church body here at Salem since 1999. They began pursuing their call to the mission field in July of 2003 and were made appointees with SEND in January 2004. They plan to work with SEND in Spain assisting in church planting and growth: Craig as business manager and Becky helping with hospitality needs. They must also complete language training. Wood Lake offers retreats, conferences, and summer camps for all ages. As a voluntary association of Churches the Baptist General Conference, of which Salem is a part, is becoming increasingly diverse. Of our nearly 900 churches, 147 are "ethnic" churches. More than 50 percent of the church starts last year were among internationals living in the United States. |
